A Collectible Piece!
What makes a sneaker a collectible piece? Myself being a collector of sneakers, I see a sneaker as a collectible piece when the manufacturer i.e. Nike, Reebok, Adidas releases the sneaker in a new colorway in which has never been released in the past. Lets take for instance the Hare Jordan 7’s that originally came out in 1991. When Nike re released them this year in the Year of The Rabbit the sneaker being a rarity was worth more and sold out fast because of its limited quantity. Not only that but the sneaker box was made different and the laces were a goldish color opposed to white like the originals.

Where Nike joins with Levi to do an exclusive Jordan 1 sneaker and outfit to match with a slide drawer box. What many don’t know is that aside from the shoe itself, box means a lot to collectors. Although they may take up space in the closet, the box is a key element. Lets also look at the collaboration between Adidas and Jeremy Scott. Jeremy Scott who is known for his wild & crazy styles has combined with Adidas to release some rare out of the ordinary sneakers. Some with Wings, some with stones,some triple tongues he even has a line with teddy bear characters as the tongue. Now these aren’t your everyday sneakers that one would put on to got outside. But if you are the type of person who likes to make a statement then his line if definitely for you.
From sneakers like the Penny Hardaway, who had the first Foamposite signature sneaker in royal blue. And now with the release of so many colors makes them a collector’s piece. If they are a collector’s piece why even wear them then? Air Jordan 1 Levi Collaboration
Nike is known to do collaborations with various companies. This time around they have joined with Levi to do a Jordan 1 hot release. Not only will you get the Jordan 1 sneaker but the box has a pair of signature jeans as well as a tee inside. Nice!!!!!
