Over the past few years, sneaker companies have given acknowledgement as to when they are going to release as shoe. In the early 90’s that was not the case at least not to my understanding. I remember just walking into a sneaker store seeing a new shoe asking for my size and buying them. There was no hassle as to any wristbands, first come first serve, very limited quantities, none of that.
These manufacturers know that the demand for sneakers have become so high and they choose to produce limited quantities all for what? If you really take a look at sneaker releases, everything is upon a recurring cycle. What this means is that everything that has been released in the past will continue to be rereleased some time or another it is all a cycle. So yes you may not been able to purchase a pair of Kobe, Lebron, Jordan’s, Foamposites, Derrick Rose, but the cycle will soon take its turn again and you have another chance at it. Look at all of the retro sneakers that have been releasing over and over, is it that the manufacturers are running out of sneaker ideas, or do they know that if they release a sneaker from the past in a new colorway it will sell more giving more credibility to the original shoe?
You have to look at it like fashion trends, from the big rope chain, Gucci links, Cazal glasses, tight jeans, four finger rings all of these have had its cycle ran and will continue to do so. To sum things all up, why have these sneaker companies not gone back to just releasing sneakers to the retailers without warning to avoid controversy and mayhem it makes things better for the sneaker community as a whole.
