Answers to this topic and how one feels can be debated about for some time. There is no true answer as to if you are a materialistic person for only wanted the best for yourself or even your children.
Many of us have grown up in times of poverty where we could not afford a pair of Jordan's, only big time drug dealers were seen wearing them. Now that times have changed and we are in a comfortable financial state, where we can buy Foamposites, LeBron's, Kobe's etc.. If we choose to collect that or those specific sneakers, why must we be categorized as being materialistic?
Everyone has a pet peeve of what it is that they like so when I saw this poster on a wall in Harlem it made me think. I saw this "See Through Materialism" as a visual statement of saying which has some truth to it, that material things like expensive sneakers are what the youth are yearning towards getting instead of an education. As well as standing on line or camping out for sneaker releases but not finishing High School. Tell me what are your thoughts of it!
