Why Even?

When it comes to fashion, what many people fail to realize is that everything does not look right on everyone. Ever since the release of the Metallic Red Foamposites last month, I have been seeing people just throw on anything red to match with the sneakers but that should not be the case. There are different shades of red and it seems like people are color blind. Yeah the Foams are pretty and if you have not noticed they made of a shiny foam material. Sporting a red fitted hat, or red sweater is not going to do it. Take the time and stand out amongst the rest, that is how you kill the game and look fly. With only one more day in this month of Black History it has been a very up and down month for many of us. So many sneaker releases, the passing of the great Whitney Houston, The Oscars, Grammy's, All Star Game all in the same month. So I took a little time to look deep in my closet and pulled out a pair of yet to be retroed sneakers the Air Jordan XX. I remember when these originally came out in 2005 with the lazer etched strap showing the stages in the life of Michael Jordan and the Air Jordan sneaker itself. A classic shoe so today I decided to throw them on.

All Star Sneaker Weekend

This weekend had so much hype added to fuel with the release of so many sneakers for All Star Weekend. With that said the Galaxy Foamposites was one that if you did not already have your wrist band from the retail store that was going to be selling them (House of Hoops, 21 Mercer) than your odds of obtaining a pair were limited to none.

I personally was one of those that really did not care if I had them or not! Although they look great and are a good catch, after purchasing them what will you do next? The Galaxy Foamposites are one of those sneakers that if you, like I have a sneaker showcase column in your house, then they would be a great conversation piece in your living room. See with a sneaker like the Galaxy foams, you have to showcase them and not wear them because once you put them on your feet and walk outside the value of the sneaker depreciates like buying a vehicle.

My thoughts are really how do most of you campers feel since many celebrities have been showing off there pairs all week and you had to camp out for 7 days and still did not get a pair. House of Hoops in Orlando decided not to sell the shoe, Nike town online cancelled the midnight launch online which hurt so many people’s feelings it is a shame

I to had the chance this week to join the festivities of an All Star release at Nike town for the All Star pack KD IV, Kobe, & LeBron 9’s. What sneakers was I going for? The KD IV’s honestly which I gave up only because I was under the weather and still just getting over my sickness. The cold rain and winds of last Friday morning made me step off the line and mind you I had been there for 3 hrs. already. My health is more important than anything so I had to pass up on getting the KD’s. Of that collection they were the only sneakers that I wanted of this glow in the dark pack. I am sure I will still obtain a pair of these somehow but for now I have taken a lost this weekend.

Not so much of a lost because I do have the Nike Dunk High QS All Star pack which is a nice set of sneakers. With each sneaker having its own illuminated removable Velcro swoosh and space flight logo on the tongue these Dunks are a nice catch for your collection.
