A Collectible Piece!

What makes a sneaker a collectible piece? Myself being a collector of sneakers, I see a sneaker as a collectible piece when the manufacturer i.e. Nike, Reebok, Adidas releases the sneaker in a new colorway in which has never been released in the past. Lets take for instance the Hare Jordan 7’s that originally came out in 1991. When Nike re released them this year in the Year of The Rabbit the sneaker being a rarity was worth more and sold out fast because of its limited quantity. Not only that but the sneaker box was made different and the laces were a goldish color opposed to white like the originals.

Where Nike joins with Levi to do an exclusive Jordan 1 sneaker and outfit to match with a slide drawer box. What many don’t know is that aside from the shoe itself, box means a lot to collectors. Although they may take up space in the closet, the box is a key element. Lets also look at the collaboration between Adidas and Jeremy Scott. Jeremy Scott who is known for his wild & crazy styles has combined with Adidas to release some rare out of the ordinary sneakers. Some with Wings, some with stones,some triple tongues he even has a line with teddy bear characters as the tongue. Now these aren’t your everyday sneakers that one would put on to got outside. But if you are the type of person who likes to make a statement then his line if definitely for you.

From sneakers like the Penny Hardaway, who had the first Foamposite signature sneaker in royal blue. And now with the release of so many colors makes them a collector’s piece. If they are a collector’s piece why even wear them then? Harlem Vault Event 7/14/2011

Tomorrow night, July 14th, we will be hosting an event featuring performances by Dremur, Julian Stephen and Beano. The night will be powered by DJ Eht Mills and hosted by Puma of Black Ink Gallery. Total Air Foamposite Max are back

With the success of the releasing of Foamposite and Foamposite Pro's. Nike has decided to Retro the Total Foamposite Max which originated in 1998. These are due to be released for the Back to School season this September. With that said I am sure that they will release the other colorways as well. Check back for updates. My Own Signature Shoe

Those of us, whom are true sneaker lovers, have probably always wanted to either create or find out how we can have our own signature sneaker. Now don’t get all excited because I am not about to tell you that there is a company that allows you to do so, even though I wish I was informing you of this. But just I general growing up we have seen the likes of many artist, celebrities, NBA, NFL, WBA, NHA, Tennis players Skate Boarders and Boxers, all sign sneaker deals and have a shoe. So is society telling us that we need to be an entertainer to earn the rights to a signature shoe under a big name brand lie Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Vans etc.? In reality yes! But I am determined to change that.

With MoSneaks hopefully becoming the brand that all of the big names run to in order to get the urban community and youth as a whole attention. We too are looking to have a sneaker of our own to show and differentiate ourselves from others. Not only is that the plan but also we would like to have it where we are issued a signature shoe amongst all of the big brands. So Nike won’t be the only brand with a MoSneaks shoe but so will Adidas, Reebok, Converse, Vans, and Puma. Then branch out to classic sneaker brands like Lotto, Kangaroos, and British Knights. See where we are going with this!

Life is about being different, Michael Jordan was a one of a kind basketball player who’s hang time whenever he would dunk, seemed as though had wings and was floating in air. Hence the name Air Jordan and a signature shoe that has been released and re-released as a Retro collection piece since 1985. Now that’s longevity and I am sure that we are all in it for the long run. So be different and you will so how limitless life can take you.
