My III Closets

Hello sneaker world! Today is March 19th and as we promised you on the last show, we are going to bring you a look at the Pewter Foamposite release. We should have been at the release that took place on 34th streets new combination store of House of Hoops. Instead we waited till early morning today to see if we could find any excitement. Low and behold, even though the Pewter are a rare color way and a nice look for the foamposite, many stores did not sell out immediately like with the Dark Royal blue foamposite.

After talking with friends who were interested in purchasing the Pewter foams, they had thought in their heads that they would sell out in stores. I had to inform them that many stores still carry this color way as well as the foamposite pro electric green that was released 2 weeks ago. With not much of a line at House of Hoops in Harlem, we decided to do my 3 closets a small segment into the realm of my own sneaker collection.

With so many sneakers in one closet, I had no choice but to label each box with a photo of what was inside. After watching a show that Kimora Lee Simmons did where she had photos on the boxes of her shoes, I felt that it was a bright idea. Many collectors have their own way of knowing what’s in the box of the sneakers in their closets, garage’s or storage houses. I have seen, everything from how I do it, to wall shelving, see threw casings and clear tuba ware boxes with the sneakers in them. All ways of knowing what’s in the box. Within Closet 1 I give you a glimpse of the Pewter foamposite, closet II retro 5’s and closet III retro 11 lows. Hope that you enjoy the video. See you next episode!

Air Jordan 7 Retro

Hello fellow collectors, here is a release update for  Nike Air Jordan 7 Retro in a new color way of White/ Orion Blue/ Black & Infrared. The tentative release date thus far is  Saturday March 26th, 2011. Check back next week for more details.

Pro-Electric Green Foamposites

The release has come and went for the Nike Pro-Electric green Foamposites. We were going to do the midnight release at Niketown 57^th street on March 5th, but decided to just attend the launch at Atmos (a exclusive sneaker retailer) in Harlem. Upon arrival at Atmos, it was as though there was not a true demand for this color way. With the store not opening till 11 am, to see no line or anyone waiting at the gate till the store opened just seemed awkward. So much talk and speculation on this color way and no line!

            As I waited for the store to open I just so happen to run into a worker, whom is a salesperson at Foot Locker’s House Of Hoops. Which is also an exclusive sneaker release store, and he stated that they were open and still had pairs of these Foamposites. To my surprise as I walked to House Of Hoops, there was no line outside, no barricades, no anxious customers looking to be guaranteed these sneakers. So I walk into House Of House, and purchase a pair for myself and decided to do my very own review on the shoe to inform you on its style. As we see so many celebrities wearing exclusive sneakers before hand and rarely are those sneakers Foamposites but merely Jordan’s. Wale of Philadelphia, was spotted wearing a pair of yet to be released Foamposites which we will fill you in on soon.

As for these particular pair of Foams, they are definitely a color way that stands out from all the rest and finding something to match with them is like almost impossible. Many of us are already informed that Foamposite color ways are usually hard to match up with an outfit unless you surf online at urban clothing sites that carry the same matching color to go with the sneaker. You may think, well wouldn’t Nike carry something that matches with their sneaker releases? Yes you are correct, but like myself, and other collectors, most of us within the sneaker game know that if there is a matching outfit to go with the sneaker, then 9 out of 10 times a lot of people will have that same outfit on. It’s like going to the prom and 2 females have on the same exact dress, all though it stands out, it is not a comfortable feeling to look or  be dressed exactly like someone else. It's Electric

Hello fellow sneaker addicts, just an update as to whats coming up this weekend. With St. Patricks day right around the corner (March 17th) Nike has a Pro Electric color way of the infamous Foamposite with the Swoosh on it releasing this Saturday March 5th at many retail stores.

Ken Griffey Max 1

This Saturday February 26th, 2011 Nike will be releasing the new Ken Griffey Air Max 1 color way in red /white. This is one of the best color ways yet. Some stores like BX sports already began selling the shoe, but will be available at other retailers this weekend.

Many of us may wonder how might sneakers relate to the entertainment industry on a business level. For those that are into collecting sneakers, more than likely have a habit of wanting all of the exclusives when they are released. Unlike celebs that have the money to buy these price pieces of footwear, and yet still get them free. We save up our little money and take out time to either camp out late nights for these releases or over pay for them to be ‘the first’ person with them.

            You can almost always see celebs wearing sneakers that have yet to be released and I am sure you are wondering how did they get them. Sneaker companies see these celebs as a status symbol for their brand. If a hot new artist like Drake is wearing a pair of there soon to be released sneakers. It makes the consumers (us) want to buy them. After reading a recent interview in Billboard magazine, hip-hop artist Drake revealed a special pair of Air Jordan IVs in white/midnight navy- Columbia blue color way that has his nickname ‘Drizzy’ stitched on the inner face of the tongue. If you see photo postings of Drake, you will notice that he has been rocking upcoming Air Jordan releases ahead of schedule.

            Chris Brown who is another artist that has been spotted wearing sneakers that haven’t been released yet, was spotted wearing a pair of Air Jordan XIII playoff’s which are due to be released later sometime this month. So as we can see, and have come to notice the entertainment business and sneakers are one that coincides with one another. A celebrity looks good wearing a pair of limited edition sneakers that have yet to come out. And the sneaker company business makes more sales from having a celebrity wearing them.
