Over pricing on kicks

This Saturday May 7th 2011 Nike will be releasing a limited edition year of the Rabbit Air Jordan 7. Not too many retail stores will be carrying these and for those that do carry it now and are selling them for a ridiculous $400.00 price tag. They will retail in stores for $160 so why is it that these stores that do have them want to make so much profit off of them? First off do you feel as though it is right that these stores sell them for such higher price? I am sure that many of you disagree with the higher pricing of the product limited or not.

I was going to shoot the release of these but there is just too much hype on these particular pair of sneakers. I checked out House Of Hoops in Harlem and would you believe that dudes are there right now and I asked them how long they have been there. The answer since Wednesday May 4th and the sneakers don’t release till tomorrow May 7th. So that’s over 72 hrs. waiting for a pair of sneakers to be released. I respect the game of sneaker collecting but some times people go over board and become a bit extreme about releases.

Back to over pricing sneakers before release dates, I would like for you to express in the comments section how you feel about these stores upping the price. Would you buy a pair of $135 sneakers for $220 just to have them before the release date? Hip Hop artist who get sponsored by sneaker companies because they are in the limelight get many sneakers sent to them for free before hand which is expected. But to say that you are the first with a pair of new Air Max, or Air Jordan’s knowing that you were over charged do you feel good about yourself and what is it that you accomplished. I would like to hear your feed back on this matter. Much luck to those that are out on line waiting to purchase the AJ 7 this weekend.
