Foamposite Trend not selling out.

What is the expectancy of a sneaker selling out after it has been released? The answer no one knows! Sounds like the Tootsie Roll commercial “how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop”. Well today was the release of the highly awaited Nike Air Foamposite Pro Pine Green. The initial release was Thursday September 1st at midnight, and stores like Nike town New York gave out wristbands on Tuesday. Once those wrist bands are all given out, your luck on purchasing the sneaker are slim or are they really? For those of us that collect and know the sneaker market are aware of mom & pop shops that may carry an exclusive sneaker before the release date just at a higher price. Some may go ahead and purchase just to be or say that they had it first. In reality you are more than likely breaking your pockets to say that you are the first with those particular sneakers.

Once they are released like these particular Foamposites, other stores that carry them like House Of Hoops in Harlem seem to always have plenty of stock to sell. Even I thought that going to the store today to purchase these would be a waste of time due to the high demand I the shoe. My thoughts were wrong, as I walked into the store stood on a two minute line for the sneaker 9:15 am in the morning and they still had plenty of sizes. So all in all my question to you all is, are exclusive sneakers still considered to be exclusive?

The way that I see it is for a sneaker to be exclusive it needs to be a one of a kind sneaker. Yes the Foamposite’s and the Foamposite Pros are all exclusive at least the color ways are. But as for sneaker definition there are not exclusive. When I say sneaker definition what is meant by that is how are these different from the other pairs. The color maybe different but it is the same sneaker, and at $206.00 a pop you can easily go broke trying to stay in the color wave. See how Nike did with the Air Jordan 6 when they released the Hare Jordan 6 Year of the Rabbit. Now those were exclusive because although they were released before, the last release was during the Chinese Year of the Rabbit, and the sneaker and box where all different from the original. Be sure to be on the look out for more exclusive releases and updates here on MoSneaks.
